Microsoft GetCID Error Codes & Solutions
Understand what Microsoft's telephone activation server responses mean when checking your Installation ID.
| Status / Code | Server Meaning | Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
| SUCCESS (48 Digits) | Valid Installation ID & Eligible Product Key | Enter the 8 blocks (A–H) into your activation window to complete permanent activation. |
| 0x67 / 0xC004C003 | The product key has been blocked by Microsoft | Blocked keys cannot generate a Confirmation ID. Replace the key with a genuine license from a verified provider like ResellKeys.com. |
| 0x71 / 0x7F / 0xD5 / 0xD6 | Activation limit or telephone override limit reached | The Retail or Volume MAK key has 0 activations remaining and phone override is locked. A fresh product key is required. |
| 0x90 | Invalid Installation ID (Checksum mismatch) | One or more digits in your Installation ID were mistyped. Check each group of 6 or 7 digits carefully and try again. |
Frequently Asked Questions (GetCID Free)
Everything you need to know about generating Microsoft Confirmation IDs online.
Why is GetCID.cc completely free while other GetCID websites charge money?
Most GetCID websites charge users per API token or require monthly subscriptions. GetCID.cc runs on a serverless cloud edge architecture and is funded by non-intrusive sponsorships from trusted software partners, allowing us to keep Confirmation ID generation 100% free with no account required.
Which Windows and Office versions are supported by GetCID.cc?
All Microsoft products that use telephone activation (54-digit or 63-digit Installation IDs) are supported, including Windows 11 (Pro, Enterprise, LTSC, Home), Windows 10, Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, Windows Server 2025/2022/2019/2016/2012, and Microsoft Office 2024, 2021, 2019, 2016, 2013, and 2010 (Retail & Volume MAK).
How can I activate Office by Command Prompt once I have my Confirmation ID?
Open Command Prompt as Administrator, navigate to your Office installation folder (for example, cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16"), view your Installation ID with cscript ospp.vbs /dinstid, and apply your 48-digit Confirmation ID (without hyphens) using cscript ospp.vbs /actcid:YOUR_48_DIGIT_CID.
What should I do if my Installation ID says "Unable to generate Confirmation ID" or "Blocked"?
When Microsoft's activation server refuses to issue a CID, it means the product key currently installed on your device has been blacklisted (Error 0x67 / 0xC004C003) or has exhausted all online and phone activations (Error 0x71 / 0x7F). No GetCID website or phone call can activate a blocked key—you will need to change your product key to a valid license.
